About us.
We are on a mission to find Yorkshire’s best young dancers of 2025.
Yorkshire Dance Awards was established in 2023 by a group of dance mums; Nicola, Gill and dance teacher Claire McGarry to recognise some of the best young dancers in the region.
About the competition.
The competition is broken down into three age categories where a maximum of 50 dancers from across the region may enter. All dancers must live within Yorkshire and have won 1st, 2nd or 3rd within an open dance festival section. The adjudicators will narrow each age category down to a final 10 where the dancers will be asked to perform again in the grand final, before the winner of each category is awarded.
This year the event will be held at: Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, WF1 3QX
Spectators fee: £10 (£8 child/Over 60’s)
Junior
Age 8-10 years
All dancers will perform at 9am
Intermediate
Age 11-13 years
All dancers will perform at 11.00am (Time subject to change)
Senior
Age 14-16 years
All dancers will perform at 2pm (Time subject to change)
Grand Final
The final 10 dancers within each age category will perform again following the first round. (Time subject to change)
Junior4.30pm
Intermediate 5.00pm
Senior 5.30pm
Award Ceremony
Awards will be presented following the grand final at 6.00pm (Time subject to change)
Each category winner will receive a cash prize of £100 and the prestigious title of being Yorkshire’s Young Dancer of 2025!
Each runner up will receive a cash prize of £50
